Enjoy the cool breeze on a hot summer night with “tankororin” lamp!
“Tankororin” is a lamp stand made of bamboo and covered with Japanese paper that illuminates the street in Asuke Town during the summer. Date / time: August 6 (Sat) ~ 15 (Mon), from 6 PM to 9 PM. Place: Old Asuke town streets. Content: Rows of tankororin　will be displayed along the streets. “Street corner concert” of various genres, using instruments such as guitar and shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese musical instrument), is also held around the town. To celebrate its 10th Anniversary the town will be lit up by tankororin together with lights from all over the country as part of a commemorative event, on August 6 and 7. Invitation ticket:
One day ticket is going to be distributed for elementary school/junior high school students in Toyota to be accompanied by one parent/guardian. General public: One day ticket is available for 700 yen (advance ticket for 500 yen) and three day pass ticket for 1,200 yen. Children under elementary school age are free of charge. All seats are non-reserved. Ticket purchase: Ticket Pia, Circle K Sunkus , Seven Eleven, Sky Hall Toyota, Sports Park (“Undo Koen Rikujo Kyugijo”), Toyota Stadium, Aichi Football Association. Lottery: you will get a chance of winning a signed T-shirt of national team players. Soccer clinic: the coach of Australian national team will give a soccer clinic for soccer instructors on August 5 (Fri), from 1:30 PM at Sky Hall Toyota (Medium Conference Room). Application is not required. Donation box: Donation box will be placed around the stadium and the money will be donated along with the money collected through admission fees. Summer vacation special event: Pipe organ concert for kids
“Let’s compare! Japanese sound and Western sound”
Date / time: August 3 (Wed), from11:30 AM. Place: Toyota City Concert Hall Music played: Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565, The Parade of the Tin Soldiers, among others. Admission fee: 500 yen for adults; 100 yen for students and children over 3 years old. ※All seats are non-reserved. Reservations can be made online through Concert Hall’s website (http://www.t-cn.gr.jp/). Additional information: childcare assistance will be provided for parents with children under school age that is over 1 year old for 1,155 yen per child.
