Declaration of income for the calculation of Municipal & Provincial taxes: until March 15!
Targeted people: people who do not need to file a final tax return and: (1) whose employer has not made the “year-end adjustment”; (2) received only public pension as income and were entitled to some kinds of income tax deductions; (3) apart from salaries and public pensions, had other sources of income; (4) did not have any income during the previous year (except those who are already included as dependents). Place: City Tax Division, South building, 2F. Necessary documents: the original copy of the certificate of income and withholding tax (gensen choshuhyo) or a document that proves the income earned; original documents for declaration of tax deductions; personal seal (inkan that needs an ink-pad). Important remark: (1) it is possible to make the declaration by post by sending proper documents along with the certificate of income and withholding tax to the Citizens’ Tax Division (〒471-8501, Toyota-shi, Nishi-machi 3-60); (2) the declaration of income to the City Hall is extremely important for the calculation of the National Health Insurance tax, provision of allowances, issuance of tax-related documents such as “income certificate”, etc. So, it is very important to submit your income declaration until the deadline; (3) it is not necessary to make the declaration for house loan deductions; (4) avoid coming on Monday morning as it is always very crowded. Filing your Income Tax Return (“Kakutei Shinkoku”)
In Japan, taxpayers must file their own income tax return (income earned from January 1st to December 31st). According to this system, that is called “Kakutei Shinkoku”, the taxpayer has to declare his income and calculate the income tax to be paid. Deadline: March 15, 2011 (Tue). Declarations made after the deadline or containing errors may be subject to fines and/or payment of interest rates. Information: please contact the Toyota Tax Office at (0565) 35.7777, in Japanese.
Japanese Culture Day
Date: March 13 (Sun) from 10 am to 12 pm. Place: ASUTE. Participants: foreign nationals. Contents: tea ceremony, flower arrangement, kimono dressing, Japanese drums “Wadaiko” and others.
